A message to our clients:

Despite the challenges that COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”) is currently presenting, the staff here at East Coast Injury Lawyers remain committed to ensuring that your claim continues to be progressed as quickly as possible, whilst doing all we can to restrict the spread of the virus.

We are currently taking every precaution to ensure we keep our clients and staff safe. None of our staff have developed any symptoms which might indicate exposure to the virus and we are continuing to follow Australian Government guidelines on how best to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, including disinfecting our offices on a regular basis each day and ensuring staff and clients are using hand sanitiser and/or are washing their hands regularly.

We are open for business

Our office remains open but we are encouraging clients to stay home where possible and contact us by telephone or email.  Scanning and emailing documents to us or posting them to us would be preferable.

If you have no alternative but to attend at our office please ensure that you use the hand sanitiser provided in reception and our team will assist by avoiding any personal contact (such as handshakes) and by keeping a healthy distance of at least 1.5m.  If you have recently travelled overseas, feel unwell or have recently been exposed to someone who is unwell, please do not attend at our office for at least 14 days to ensure that you have not been infected.

Should the government force our business to close by way of lockdown, then we will be working from home.  All of our staff have been set up so that they have remote access to everything they need in order to ensure that your claim continues to progress in a timely manner.

Medicolegal appointments

Most medicolegal appointments are proceeding but the specialist doctors are asking clients to provide an assurance that they have not been diagnosed with Coronavirus, have not been in contact with anyone that does and that they do not have any symptoms suggestive of the fact that they could have the virus.  They are also taking additional precautions with anyone that has been overseas in the last 14 days.

If you are suffering from any symptoms or have potentially been exposed to the Coronavirus, please let us know as soon as possible so that appointments can be rescheduled where necessary.

Client Meetings and Settlement Conferences

Client meetings and settlement conferences will, where possible, be convened by way of telephone and/or online video conferencing.

Should your matter be coming up for conference in the near future, our team will be in touch soon to discuss how the conference is to proceed (ie whether you need to attend at our office or can attend the conference from the comfort of your own home).

Future Updates

We are continuing to monitor the situation and the advice and directions being issued by the State and National governments. Should anything change which might impact upon you, we will provide a further update at that time.

In the meantime, should you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
